Stresses of Life

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, with prayer and petition with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:6-7

Sometimes this is easier than other times. Right now we need that peace. We live dependent on income outside of our regular income to live. God has provided this for the last 13 months through overtime, real estate, side jobs, friends and family. These last couple of months have been especially tough with no extra income and we are feeling the results. We KNOW God will take care of us but it's overwhelming when we are looking at unpaid bills. Please pray for provision and peace for us.

I leave this comment asking that you not publish. We know how you are feeling, in that we have also always relied on "extras" for making ends meet. An extra job here or there, overtime, bonus, you get the picture. Well, now all that's dried up and since I have been in school Doug hasn't been looking for extra jobs. The stash of money is dwindling as we need more than we make. We really trust God, but seem to have been under stress lately and it's coming out as fighting and anger. I hate that. I wish I were better than all this. The most recent development is that the City is planning on laying off 238 firemen in January if the income tax levy fails in August. Doug would be in that group and the layoff would be for a year, all of 2010. We decided to put all of the kids into Erin's christian school for next year and so there is the added burden of tuition payment now. I KNOW that this is just an attack from Satan to get us to retreat to that "it's in our control" mentality, and I don't want to step back into that. I'll pray for your family and that God would continue to meet all of your needs. We are believing that He has our family and yours in His hands.
Thinking of you,
Jen
